Happy Aussie Birthday, Frances!

Today is a very special day! My good friend Frances (StampOwl on SCS) is celebrating her birthday! Of course, we had to celebrate it with her yesterday, because she lives in Australia and yesterday is today there. Or something like that. Anyway, this is the card I made for her. I only put one candle on it, even though I know she is significantly older than that (hehehe).

Tag, I'm It!

Tag, I'm It!

My friend Kim Muhl tagged me. If you haven't checked out her blog, you really should! She has some truly amazing creations on there. Here are the rules. First, link to the person who tagged you and post the rules on your blog. Next, share seven random and or weird facts about yourself. Then tag seven more people at the end of your post. Be sure to include links to their blogs. Finally, let each person know that they have been tagged, by leaving a comment on their blog.

Seven Random Facts about Me

1. I have arachnophobia.

2. My (then) 11 year old son and I got snowed in at the Cincinatti Airport for 72 hours with only the clothes on our backs and $17.00. We got home on Christmas Eve.

3. When I was little I got poison ivy all over my face. My parents have pictures of me in a ballet performance wearing a pink tutu and bright red splotches all over my face. Lovely.

4. I used to work the night shift in a psychiatric hospital.

5. I have all of my sons' baby teeth. (Ewwww!)

6. I once took a belly dancing class.

7. I have watched every episode of Project Runway.

Project Runway

Here's my submission for Project Runway VSN's mini challenge, Tall & Skinny. The challenge was to CASE a card and re-make it into a tall & skinny card. The card I CASEd is Nutsymuhl's beautiful creation, here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/768110?cat=500&ppuser=63847. Unfortunately, I didn't have all the right materials, so I had to make several substitutions. I watercolored the flower with my aquapainter.

Tourists

I just love this stamp, made by Eat Cake Graphics. I imagined this as a postcard these folks were sending out from their vacation to....Coney Island?? Hehe. The sentiment came from Hambo Stamps. Monica included it (and several others) with my order, FOR FREE! Thanks, Monica! You ROCK!)

Dang Computer!

I have been having serious computer "issues" this past week, so I haven't posted in a while. I don't know why it randomly decided to let me on this morning, as I don't think I did anything to fix it, but keep your fingers crossed that it will last a bit longer!

This week's Sassy Challenge was to make a card using the Dahlia Fold featured on SCS a couple of months ago (you can find the tutorial here). I knew right away that I was going to have to use my Ginger Blossom paper. I may never do this again, as it was a lot of work, but I do like the way it turned out!

Stamps: none
Paper: Ginger Blossom DSP, Groovy Guava, River Rock, Regal Rose
Ink: none
Accessories: brad, CM circle cutting system, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug die cuts
